Inspirations for Magical Konpeito Nails

Inspirations for Magical Konpeito Nails

Have you ever heard of a Japanese candy called konpeito?⭐︎

Konpeito was introduced to Japan from Portugal in 1549 (during the Sengoku period).

At that time, people were mesmerized by this cute candy that looked like tiny stars.

Imagine seeing such a beautiful and unique sweet for the first time. It must have been quite a shock!

Konpeito isn't just delicious. It's also a magical candy that brings happiness just by looking at it.

I love it so much that I always keep some at home⭐︎

Eating Konpeito during my work break or reading a book makes me feel incredibly happy.

This particular Konpeito is handcrafted in Kyoto, and believe it or not,it takes two whole weeks to make! Can you believe it?

But that's exactly why it's so special.

Its delicate shape and refined taste are the result of time and dedication.

And now, I've taken that charm and turned it into a nail design.

Introducing a New Konpeito-Inspired Nail Design!

At Puku Puku Nails, I've created Konpeito-themed designs before,

but this time, I wanted to take it to the next level⭐︎

I've designed a fully three-dimensional Konpeito charm that looks just like the real konpeito!

Most Konpeito charms used in nail art are only semi-3D, but I wanted to capture the round, bumpy texture of real Konpeito as accurately as possible.

So, I carefully handcraft each piece using clay gel, creating a truly lifelike Konpeito charm.

To be honest, I have absolute confidence in making the most realistic Konpeito!😆

That‘s how much I love eating them and studying their adorable shape.

This time, I've combined Konpeito with a cute 3D ribbon and a dango (Japanese sweet dumpling), letting the Konpeito dangle from them to create a unique and playful design.

If you are a Konpeito lover like me,

you're going to fall in love with this one-of-a-kind nail design!

p.s.

By the way, one of my favorite Konpeito shops in Kyoto has a fascinating video on YouTube, showing the process of how Konpeito is made.

If you're curious, I highly recommend watching it, it's really interesting!
